    Last Wilderness blog update

The Last Wilderness is a collection of field notes, observations and stories of adventure from the wild side of the Olympic Peninsula. Canoeing, backpacking, climbing and sea kayaking are among the activities that are detailed in the write-ups, along with a smattering of history and biology from time to time. Check it out for the stories; if you are looking for ideas about where to go in the Olympics, it's a great place for that too!

    Surf Camp added

Because of a scheduling conflict, the Surf Camp that was originally on the calendar at the end of June has been rescheduled. The new dates are August 1-3. This is a great opportunity to hone your open cast skills in one of the most beautiful and exciting places in Washington. Cost for the course is $335 and includes instruction on launching, landing and playing in every part of the surf zone. Class size is limited to 6 participants so call or write and reserve your spot today.

    Sea Kayak Demo Days

If you're interested in purchasing a sea kayak, the best way to narrow down your choices and find the one that's right for you is by actually getting out on the water. Backpackers Supply is once again hosting free demo days this summer at Owen Beach in Point Defiance Park: June 15, July 12 and August 16, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm each day. To register (the event is free, but preregistration is required), call (253) 472-4402.

    2009 Olympic OUST

Coming next year... no details yet... something that will appeal to the adventurer in all of us.. but, I don't want to say too much... this here is just a teaser, just a little something to make you say, "What the heck is this all about?"

Curious? Keep watching for more details.
